The Kisarazu garrison of Japan's Ground Self-Defense Forces in Chiba is internet famous for taking the principle of bishoujo itasha ("pain cars") and applying it  to military helicopters.

1/144 JGSDF Cobra AH-1S 4Ath 20Anniversary 2012

 Fans of cute girls and military hardware alike have been delighted by the recent display of base mascot Akane Kisarazu and her ita-Cobra attack helicopter as part of Camp Kisarazu’s 40th air festival.

The character appearing on the aircraft – and cosplayed by the pretty girl sitting atop it – is Akane Kisarazu, the mascot of JGSDF Camp Kisarazu, a JGSDF base in Chiba prefecture which houses the 1st Helicopter Brigade and hosts its own matsuri, in this case hosted by 4ATH, the 4th anti-tank helicopter squadron.
